Dogsock Novel by SFX-Officer wins Book in a Day

Book in a Day judge, Clare Hallifax from Scholastic wrote... once again, a very impressive collection of works, even more impressive considering the obstacles to collaboration that this year has brought.  It really is a superlative effort!
Dogsock was a standout for several reasons and certainly as a whole package. The attention to detail in the illustrations was wonderful, in particular the use of light. The designed look of the book was also excellent – it looked professional, and as a result made for ease of reading, with well spaced and formatted text. The writing itself was a commendable mix of a well thought through story, believable characters, some lovely descriptive prose that wasn’t overwritten and an obvious good grasp of grammar and punctuation appropriate to story writing

The final 3 novellas were:-
    Dogsock - SFX-Officer
    Reverie - John Paul
    Last Light - Balcombe

Congratulations to all students that participated in the competition & thank you to Scholastic for your generous sponsorship.
