Schools to arrive at 9:00am for a 9:30am start.  Finish at 2:00pm.

Teams are called 1 and 2.

The first named team is the affirmative. (Please remember this for all debates)

Each team must have two debates per round for Rounds 1 & 2.

Firstly, a prepared debate and the second being an unprepared/secret debate.  Secret topics will be announced on the day.

Schools to provide students with stop watches for timing.

Teams are not permitted to watch over teams in the same section (i.e. Junior cannot watch Junior).  There should be no movement during the debates.

Strictly only video recording of your own/individual school students is allowed, with the permission from students and parents.

Laptops and mobile phones are not to be used.

Scoring - Win = 2 points, Loss = 0 points.

Schools in semi finals / finals will be required to host.

In the interest of the competition all teams are asked to stay right up to the end of their last debate. Please express to the students that every effort will be made to keep to the timetable but please do not become ‘bus dependent’ and skip off early. This causes other teams to lose practice in what may be their only competition for the year.
