SIS Public Speaking took place at Padua Tyabb campus on 7th May with 95 students and 190 speeches taking place across the day. It was wonderful to see so many participants involved, and students enjoyed the opportunity to present in both Prepared and Impromptu categories.
The adjudicators were especially impressed with the originality and fresh thinking shown in the impromptu speeches, with most students making effective use of their short 5-minute preparation time, speaking on topics such as ‘The importance of listening’, ‘Lead by example’ and ‘Read between the lines’.
Results saw St. Margaret’s Berwick Grammar girls taking a clean sweep across all three levels - Junior 159pts, Intermediate 163 pts, Senior 154 pts.
Runner-up teams were Junior - St. Margaret’s Officer 158 pts, Intermediate - SFX Officer 151 pts and Senior – Hillcrest 151 pts.
Congratulations to the students for taking part in this fantastic day.
