2019 Cross Country Carnivals

The SIS Cross Country Carnivals were held on the 28th of May 2019 at the surrounds of Baxter Park.
In Division B, St Peters College students were outstanding as they won the Intermediate, Aggregate Girls and the Overall Champion Shield.

2019 Swimming Carnivals |

All Division A schools participated in the Swimming Carnival at MSAC on 2 May. Balcombe, Flinders, Padua, St Francis Xavier, St James & Woodleigh. Flinders won the Intermediate, Senior, Girls & Boys Aggregate and Overall Champion Shields. Padua won the Junior Shield & Balcombe won The Merit Award. SFX student Melissa Woolf broke a record in U/16 Breaststroke. Katelin Van Breen from Flinders broke a long standing 26 year record in open Breaststroke. The Division B schools competed on 1 May. Berwick, Casey, Cornish, John Paul, Nazareth, St Johns & St Peters. Tamara Taukiri smashed three SIS records in U/13 freestyle, breaststroke & a 37 yo backstroke record - a wonderful achievement. St Peter's Principal, Chris Black presented Cornish with the overall champion shield along with the Junior, Intermediate, Girls Aggregate & Merit Award. 2019 Athletics Carnivals |
At Melbourne's prestigious Lakeside venue on 26 August 2019, the Division B students were highly competitive throughout the entire carnival.
Balcombe were announced the Overall Champions & also won pennants in girls U/13, U/15, U/16, U/17 & U/21 age groups.
The Intermediate & Girls Aggregate awards were also presented to Balcombe.
St Johns students were awarded for their improved performances by winning pennants for boys age groups U/14 & U/21.
Berwick Grammar students were strong competitors & recipients of the U/15, U/17 boys pennants & outstandingly won the Boys Aggregate Shield.
The U/13 boys pennant & Merit Award was received by Casey.
Congratulations to SIS record breakers - Geena Davy, U/13 Triple Jump & Matthew Merrilees, U/16 High Jump.

The Division A Carnival was held on 27 August 2019 with many personal bests achieved & further SIS records broken.
Padua students... outstanding for the 6th consecutive year - were awarded the Overall Champions Shield along with the Junior, Intermediate, Senior & Aggregate Girls Shields.
Talent all round winning pennants in Girls U/13, U/15, U/16, U/21 & Boys U/15, U/16, U/17 & U/21.
Students from St Francis Xavier were very competitive, winning pennants in U/14 boys, U/17 girls & the Aggregate Boys Shield.
John Paul raised interest from competing schools with their outstanding relay performances & they were awarded pennants in U/13 boys & U/14 girls.
The Merit Award was presented to Cornish.
