2017 Cross Country Carnivals

The SIS Cross Country Carnival was held on the 23rd of May 2017 at the surrounds of Baxter Park.

In Division A, Padua College for the 30th successive year were awarded the Overall Champions along with the Junior, Intermediate, Senior, Aggregate Girls & Boys Shields.

Padua student Callen Goldsmith extended his SIS Record count to 3 after winning the U/21 4km course and Mia Bilston from Padua broke the U/14 girls 3km record.

John Paul's improvement was evident as they received pennants in the U/21 Boys and U/16 Girls.

The Merit Award was presented to Woodleigh.

 

In Division B,  Flinders College students were outstanding as they won the Junior, Intermediate, Senior, Aggregate Girls & Boys and were clear winners of overall champion shield. 

Ethan Anthony of Flinders broke the U/17 boys record by 1 second.

The U/21 boys pennant was won by St Johns.

Balcombe collected pennants in U/17 girls, U/16 boys, U/15 boys, U/14 girls, U/13 girls.

Cornish College were recipients of the U/15 girls pennant and the Merit Award.

2017 Swimming Carnivals

All Division B schools participated in the Swimming Carnival at MSAC on 20 April 2017.

Flinders, John Paul, Nazareth, St James, St Johns and St Peters.

SIS President, Mr Tim Hogan presented Flinders with the Junior, Intermediate, Senior, Girls & Boys Aggregate and Overall Champion Shields.

Nazareth won The Merit Award.

There was 1 SIS swimming record beaten.

The Division A schools competed on 27th April 2017

Balcombe, Berwick, Cornish, Padua, St Francis Xavier and Woodleigh.

For the 28th successive year Padua won the overall champion shield.

Padua also won the Junior, Intermediate, Senior, Girls & Boys Aggregate Shields.

3 further SIS swimming records were set.

2017 Athletics Carnivals

The Division B Carnival was held at Lakeside Stadium on the 28th of August 2017.
Flinders College students were outstanding as they were awarded the Overall Champions along with the Junior, Intermediate, Senior, Aggregate Girls & Boys Shields.
St James won the U/14 & U/15 boys pennant.
Berwick Grammar won the U/16 pennant and the Merit Award was presented to Balcombe.

In Division A,  Padua College continued their winning streak of 4 successive years winning the Junior, Intermediate, Aggregate Girls & Boys and the overall champion shield.
St Francis Xavier were strong competitors overall and won the U/15 & U/21girls pennant, U/21 boys pennant and the Senior Shield.
Cornish College were recipients of the Merit Award.
Congratulations to the following students that broke SIS records:- Ella Fischer (Padua), Will Hamill (Padua), Bridie Kelly (Cornish).
